Johannes Bürgi is a partner in the Banking & Finance Team of ww&p. He advises banks, insurers and other companies in matters involving banking, finance, capital markets and securities law, as well as corporate and competition law. In finance, he focuses on structured finance transactions (securitization, alternative risk transfer), project finance and asset finance including complex real estate financings. Johannes Bürgi is a lecturer in business law at the University of Berne, a lecturer in financial law in the Executive Master of European and International Business Law Program (M.B.L.- HSG) of the University of St. Gall and a fellow of the Program in Law, Business and Finance in Korea. He is a member of the European Securitisation Forum (ESF).
Born in 1972, Johannes Bürgi was educated at Lausanne and Berne Universities (state exam 1998, Dr. iur. 2001) and at Stanford Law School (LL.M. 2003). He has working experience as a District Court law clerk, trainee at a Berne law firm, research assistant at the University of Berne and secondee to UBS Investment Bank in Zurich.
